The City of Lexington is collaborating with leaders from Bourbon, Clark, Jessamine, Scott, and Woodford Counties to develop a regional climate action plan. This initiative is supported by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. Residents from all six counties are encouraged to participate in a virtual meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m.

The meeting aims to inform community members about potential projects designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the region. Over recent months, meetings have been conducted in each partner county to gather input and discuss plans.

Jada Walker Griggs, Program Manager Senior for the City's Sustainability Section, emphasizes the importance of community involvement. She states, “This virtual meeting is a way for those who were not able to attend the meeting in their community to share their input.” A survey will also be distributed later this year to collect additional feedback.

In related local news, due to the Veterans Day holiday on Monday, November 11, there will be no city waste collection services. Additionally, job seekers in the Lexington area are invited to attend a career fair hosted by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government on Tuesday, November 12 starting at 10 a.m.
