Tempur Sealy International, Inc. has announced a leadership change at Mattress Firm following its recent acquisition of the company. John Eck has stepped down as CEO of Mattress Firm, and Scott Thompson, Chairman and CEO of Tempur Sealy, will serve as Interim CEO during the transition period. The company plans to appoint a new CEO within six to nine months.

Scott Thompson expressed gratitude for John Eck's leadership, stating, "We thank John for his successful 6 years at Mattress Firm, leading the business to outperform the market over the period of his leadership." He also looks forward to collaborating with the Mattress Firm leadership team during this transitional phase.

Tempur Sealy will soon rebrand as Somnigroup International Inc., effective February 18, 2025. Under this new structure, Mattress Firm, Dreams, and Tempur Sealy will operate as decentralized business units. While Mattress Firm and Dreams will continue as multi-branded retailers, Tempur Sealy will maintain its role as a manufacturer serving third-party retailers and direct-to-consumer channels.

Tempur Sealy is dedicated to enhancing sleep quality globally through its innovative bedding products available in over 100 countries. The company's brands include Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, and Stearns & Foster. It aims for carbon neutrality in its global operations by 2040.
