Barricade incident on Potomac Drive leads to arrest

One individual was taken into custody following a barricade situation on Potomac Drive. On October 24, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., law enforcement responded to a domestic violence call involving a weapon at a residence in the 400 block of Potomac Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspect had assaulted a female victim and subsequently barricaded himself inside the home with a firearm.

The suspect, identified as Jason Fields, aged 47, faces multiple charges including Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree (Domestic Violence), Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) Minor Injury, Strangulation 1st Degree (Domestic Violence Related), and five counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer). He is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.
