Golden alert canceled after missing Lexington man found safe

The Golden Alert for Stephen Hatfield has been canceled. He has been located and is safe.

The Lexington Police Department had issued a Golden Alert for the missing Lexington man. Stephen Hatfield, 83, was last seen on July 27, 2024, at around 12:00 a.m. in the 2000 block of Bamboo Drive. He is described as being 5’10” tall and approximately 175 pounds, wearing white boxer briefs with stripes, a dark-colored tee shirt, and no shoes.

Hatfield suffers from dementia and was last seen traveling on foot. Authorities had urged anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to call 911.
