Arrest Made in Robbery and Shooting on Village Drive

One person has been arrested in connection with a shooting and a robbery that occurred on Village Drive in Lexington. On the evening of December 21, 2023, officers responded to a robbery at Imperial Liquor on Village Drive. The suspect, identified as Anthony Parks, entered the store with a firearm and attempted to steal beer. During the altercation with the suspect, a store clerk was shot. Fortunately, the victim's injuries were reported as non-life-threatening, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect, Anthony Parks, 27, was detained by bystanders at the store until officers arrived at the scene. He has been charged with several offenses, including Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. Parks is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
