There will be changes to the City of Lexington's waste collection schedule during the week of Thanksgiving. No yard waste collection will occur that week, and there will be no waste collection services on Thursday, November 28, or Friday, November 29.

Residents and businesses with regular curbside pickup on Thursday or Friday will instead have their waste collected on Wednesday, November 27. They are advised to place trash and recycling carts out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday evening as trucks will begin pickups early on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday curbside pickups remain unchanged.

Yard waste in gray carts, paper bags, or bundles will not be collected from November 25 through November 27. Regular yard waste collection resumes on Monday, December 2.

Businesses using dumpsters for trash and recycling that are usually serviced by the city on Thursday or Friday will also have their collections moved to Wednesday, November 27. Dumpster collections scheduled for Monday and Tuesday remain unaffected.

The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, the Lexington Recycle Center, and the Electronics Recycle Center will close from Thursday, November 28 through Sunday, December 1.
