Arrest made in Richmond Road fatal hit-and-run incident

One person has been arrested following a fatal hit-and-run incident on Richmond Road. The event took place late on Monday, November 11, 2024. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:10 p.m., where they found the operator of a moped deceased. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office is responsible for releasing the name of the deceased.

Authorities utilized resources from the department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center, including the Fusus platform and Flock license plate readers, to identify and locate the driver involved in the collision. Logan Rogers, aged 21, was subsequently arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of Accident/Failure to Render Aid or Assist leading to Death or Serious Physical Injury. He is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.
