One of the victims from the October 3, 2024 shooting on Devonport Drive has died from his injuries, leading authorities to investigate the case as a homicide and shooting. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Devonport Drive. Upon arrival, they found two individuals with gunshot wounds.
The victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment. An 18-year-old victim sustained life-threatening injuries, while a 14-year-old victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased as Juan Martinez-Bustos, who succumbed to his injuries on October 15, 2024.
