Fayette County residents can dispose of household materials such as paint and cleaners at the city’s fall Household Hazardous Waste collection on Saturday, Sept. 14. The collection event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike. Participants should enter via Jimmie Campbell Drive.

Household hazardous waste includes paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, pesticides, and more. Improper disposal of these chemicals can pollute air, water, or soil and pose a threat to human health. Electronic waste items will also be collected at the event.

Event reminders:

Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are invited to participate in Cycle September.

The City of Lexington is taking the next step to fix the sanitary sewer system’s odor issues.

Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no city waste collection on Monday, Sept 2.
