Two individuals have been arrested following the discovery of a credit card skimmer at a local store.
On July 15, 2024, officers responded to the Winburn Fruit Supermarket on the 1100 block of Winburn Drive after a credit card keypad skimmer overlay was found in the store. Two male suspects were apprehended at the scene. Mihai Neacsu, 39, who is held in the Fayette County Detention Center under the name Giorgio Lorenco, and John Doe, detained as Michele Farsoni, face multiple charges. These include Unlawful Access to a Computer 1st Degree, Engaging in Organized Crime, Use of a Scan Device/Reencoder to Access/Transactions Information from a Credit Card 1st Offense, and Possession of Burglary Tools. Both are currently held at the Fayette County Detention Center while authorities continue to investigate John Doe’s true identity.
The extent of compromised financial data remains unknown. Detectives urge anyone who used a credit or debit card at this location to monitor their accounts for suspicious activity and report any irregularities.
