Lexington residents are in for a treat as the annual spring mulch giveaway is set to take place on Saturday, April 20. The event, organized by the city's Division of Waste Management, will provide residents with the opportunity to collect mulch made from yard waste collected over the past few months.
Individuals interested in participating are advised not to arrive before 8 a.m. as the mulch will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person is limited to one pickup truckload of mulch, ensuring that there is enough for everyone to benefit from.
For those who wish to pick up smaller amounts of mulch, a self-load area will be available. However, due to high demand, individuals self-loading are requested to adhere to a 15-minute loading time and bring their own tools and bags as the city will not be providing them at the event.
The event is exclusive to Fayette County residents, and participants are required to bring their driver's license showing a Lexington address. Access to the event site is through Jimmie Campbell Drive, with clear signage guiding attendees.
For further details or inquiries, individuals can contact LexCall 311 at (859) 425-2255 or visit the city's webpage.
After facing delays due to severe weather conditions, the sanitary sewer construction has now progressed to the intersection of Gainesway Drive and Greentree Road.
