The Lexington Police Department is currently engaged in a homicide investigation following a tragic incident that took place on the morning of Friday, March 8, 2024. According to reports, officers responded to a shooting with a victim in the 2400 block of Rockaway Place at 3:39 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are actively working on the case, with the Fayette County Coroner’s Office expected to release the victim's identity in due course. Urging the community for assistance, authorities have appealed to the public for any information related to the incident.
