Four individuals have been arrested following an incident involving gunfire in the early hours on Ormond Circle. On June 12, 2024, at approximately 2:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Lansdowne Drive and Redding Road after reports of shots fired. Officers and Air One located the source of the gunshots in the 3400 block of Ormond Circle. No injuries were reported, although one residence was struck by gunfire.

Lex Grow Trees has awarded nearly $500,000 in grants to enhance Lexington’s tree canopy and promote community engagement in urban forestry. Out of 22 applications requesting a total of $2.8 million, nine organizations received a combined $491,131.55 in the first round of large project grants. The funding was part of a $1.5 million allocation by the Urban County Council for Lexington’s tree canopy.
The annual Kentucky River Clean Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, June 15. Both new and veteran volunteers will take boats out on the Kentucky River to collect trash along the twelve miles of river that runs through Fayette County.
