The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on Newtown Pike. The incident took place on June 4, 2024, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Newtown Pike in response to reports of a shooting involving a victim.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries but later succumbed to those injuries. His identity will be released by the Fayette County Coroner.
Detectives from the Personal Crimes Section are actively investigating the case and are seeking assistance from the public.
