Man arrested for kidnapping and sexual abuse in Fayette County

One person has been arrested for kidnapping and sexual abuse following an incident that occurred on May 4, 2024.

On May 6, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Village Drive for an assault. The female victim informed officers she was forced into a car at gunpoint and taken to an apartment complex.

Utilizing the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate readers, and traffic cameras, detectives identified the suspect as Jose Cabellero-Vazquez, 24. Vazquez was arrested on June 6, 2024, by the Georgetown Police Department. He is currently being held at the Scott County Detention Center on charges of Kidnapping (Adult) and Sexual Abuse in the first degree awaiting extradition to Fayette County.
