Shooting on Chinoe Road results in fatality; police seek public's help

On November 30, 2024, a shooting incident occurred on the 1000 block of Chinoe Road. Officers arrived at the scene around 6:43 p.m. and found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An update on December 1, 2024, confirmed that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are seeking information from the public. Those with details about the case are encouraged to contact Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600. In other news, Valley View Ferry ceased operations on November 30 for recertification and repairs expected to last one to two months. Additionally, Martin Luther King Blvd. is closed between East Fifth Street and Rand Ave., starting Monday, November 25, due to sanitary sewer construction.
