Arrest made after stabbing incident on Versailles Road

An individual has been taken into custody following an overnight assault on Versailles Road. The incident occurred at approximately 2:44 a.m. on November 26, 2024, when officers were called to the Speedway located in the 2300 block of Versailles Road due to a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, police found a male victim who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities later arrested Manuel Quintana-Gomez, aged 22. He faces charges of Assault 2nd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Marijuana. Quintana-Gomez is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.

In other local updates, the Valley View Ferry will cease operations on November 30 at 8 p.m. for recertification and repairs lasting one to two months. Additionally, Martin Luther King Blvd. will be closed between East Fifth Street and Rand Ave., starting Monday, November 25 for sanitary sewer construction.
