Lexington, KY – On Monday, U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) announced the winning artwork of Kentucky's 6th Congressional District's 2024 Congressional Art Competition.
Congressman Barr expressed his delight in announcing the winner, stating, "Congratulations to Lillian Horseman of Bryan Station High School for winning the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. Her artwork, C and O 2617, will be on display in the U.S. Capitol this upcoming summer."
The winning artwork, titled "C and O 2617," was submitted by Lillian Horseman from Bryan Station High School. Additionally, the competition recognized other talented artists, with Adriana Farfan from Bryan Station High School securing 2nd place with "A Kentucky Recipe," and Laila Davis from Fleming County High School claiming 3rd place with "Kentuckians Connection." Jacob Masterson from Scott County High School also received an Honorable Mention for his piece, "King of the Jungle."
In his statement, Congressman Barr extended his gratitude to all the participants, saying, "Thank you to all students who participated in this year's competition. We had 50 pieces of artwork submitted from 14 schools across the 6th District."
The competition showcased a diverse range of artistic talent from students in the region, highlighting the creativity and skill present in Kentucky's youth.
