The City of Nicholasville has received its second installment of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

The City of Nicholasville has received its second installment of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Discussions have been on-going regarding the best way to allot this unexpected revenue.

City leaders considered requests from other non-government entities and evaluated the current Commission’s goals for Nicholasville’s future.

Prior to ARPA, some of these projects would have continued to be a dream or to sit on the shelf until funding from traditional sources could be obtained.

Early discussions included using a portion of these funds to update our aging sanitary sewer lines in our current wastewater system.

However, thanks to a Cleaner Water Grant awarded by the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, ARPA funds were no longer needed to complete this upgrade and made it possible to expand our plans further.

We hope you are as excited as we are for our plan to utilize these funds based on the guidelines from the Treasury.
