The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place on East Fifth Street. On the night of Saturday, October 19, 2024, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of East Fifth Street. Upon arrival, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for releasing the name of the deceased.
