Two individuals have been taken into custody following the abduction of three children from Fayette County. On October 7, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Crimes Against Children Detectives were alerted to the kidnapping incident involving two non-custodial family members. The detectives acted swiftly to trace the vehicle transporting the children, utilizing support from law enforcement partners and technology.
Later that evening, Delaware State Police troopers successfully intercepted the vehicle and ensured the children's safety. Ashley Brown, aged 29, and Kolene Shahan, aged 50, were apprehended and face charges of three counts of Kidnapping in the first degree.
The Lexington Police Department expressed gratitude towards the Delaware State Police and other law enforcement agencies for their assistance during this investigation.
