Lexington will be hosting a Trash Disposal Day for Fayette County residents at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station this Saturday, April 13. The event, aimed at disposing of non-hazardous household waste, will run from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to bring up to one pickup truck load of non-hazardous household waste to the event. However, it's important to note that items such as appliances and electronics will not be accepted for free disposal. These items have designated drop-off locations where they can be disposed of at no charge.
Furthermore, hazardous materials like pesticides, motor oil, and paint will not be accepted during the event. Residents can dispose of these materials at the next Household Hazardous Waste Collection.
This free disposal day is part of Lexington's ongoing efforts to promote responsible waste management. The city holds such events four times a year, in January, April, July, and October. For more information on the upcoming event or waste disposal in general, residents can contact LexCall at 3-1-1 or 425-2255, or visit the city's webpage.
Lexington residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to responsibly dispose of their household waste and contribute to a cleaner environment.
