The Lexington Police Department has issued a Golden Alert for a missing Lexington man, Kenneth "Kenny" Higgins, 32, who was last seen on March 23, 2024. According to the department, Higgins was last seen in the 1000 block of Firethorn Place at around 09:00 a.m. The missing man is described as 6’1” tall, approximately 320 pounds, with brown eyes and brown and gray hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a dark oversized t-shirt, a dark hooded sweatshirt, and slip-on shoes.
Mr. Higgins reportedly has autism, schizophrenia, and requires medication. The Lexington Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding his whereabouts. In a statement, they said, "Anyone with knowledge of Kenneth Higgins whereabouts is asked to call 911."
In other news, a grant program available to social service agencies has expanded eligibility to include a new priority area, mental health. Additionally, part of Devonport Drive will be closed starting Wednesday, March 27, for sewer construction, with the closure expected to last for two weeks.
