Lexington’s Division of Waste Management has announced a change to the collection schedule for the upcoming Presidents Day holiday. In a statement released on Feb 15, 2024, the city informed residents and businesses about the adjustments that will be made.
According to the announcement, there will be no waste collection on Monday, Feb. 19. Instead, residents and businesses that normally receive curbside pickup on Mondays will be serviced on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The city advises those with Monday service to place their carts out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday to ensure Wednesday collection.
In addition, businesses with dumpsters that are normally serviced by the city on Mondays will have pickup on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Similarly, businesses with dumpsters normally serviced on Tuesdays will have pickup on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The collection schedules for Thursday and Friday will not be affected.
It is important to note that The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, the Lexington Recycle Center, and the Electronics Recycle Center will be closed on Saturday, Feb. 17, and Monday, Feb. 19.
