On August 20, 2024, an individual was arrested in connection with a shooting incident on Glen Arvin Avenue. The Lexington Police Department utilized the Real-Time Intelligence Center, Flock license plate readers, and FUSUS technology to identify the suspect as Javonte Briscoe, aged 32. Briscoe faces charges of Assault 1st Degree, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is currently detained at the Fayette County Detention Center.
The shooting occurred on August 15, 2024, around 9:30 a.m., near Glen Arvin Avenue and Georgetown Street. Officers dispatched to the scene found a male victim with a gunshot wound who was subsequently transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are continuing their investigation and have requested that residents and businesses in the area review their surveillance footage for any relevant information.
