The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide and shooting that occurred overnight on National Avenue.
On August 9, 2024, around 12:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of National Avenue for a shooting with victims. Upon arrival, officers located six individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital. A male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital, while the other five victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
