City hosting Household Hazardous Waste event on May 11

Fayette County residents are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Household Hazardous Waste collection event on Saturday, May 11, as reported by city officials. The event, aimed at promoting proper disposal of hazardous materials, will take place at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with entry through Jimmie Campbell Drive.

According to the announcement, a variety of household items such as paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, pesticides, and more fall under the category of hazardous waste. Improper disposal of these substances can have detrimental effects on the environment and human health.

In addition to the mentioned items, electronic waste will also be accepted for safe disposal during the event.
