Nicholasville, KY – This week, Congressman Andy Barr (KY-06) revealed that $4,000,000 in federal funding has been allocated to the city of Nicholasville and Jessamine County for the development of 91 additional acres of industrial land in an opportunity zone on the south side of Nicholasville. The project aims to expand the existing Jennette Industrial Park. Barr secured this funding through the Fiscal Year 2023 and Fiscal Year 2024 Community Project Funding Processes.

"When you have a sophisticated infrastructure in place, you can attract high-quality technology and aerospace jobs,” said Congressman Barr. “This funding will bring over 600 jobs to the community and will inevitably be a huge return on investment. I am proud to be sending Jessamine Countians’ hard-earned tax dollars back to their community."

Jessamine County Judge Executive David West expressed his gratitude, stating, “I want to thank Congressman Barr for assisting Jessamine County in moving this important economic process forward. The Jennette Industrial Park will provide employment for hundreds of families for generations to come.”

This initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the economic development of Jessamine County, creating opportunities for employment and growth within the community.
