The Jessamine County Tourism Commission and the City of Nicholasville collaborated to host a series of musical events throughout the summer. On the first Friday of each month, from May through December, downtown Nicholasville’s Performance Park became a stage for local musicians.

The performances showcased a variety of genres, featuring artists from the Nicholasville or Lexington area. The concerts also included food trucks from the region. “The [concert series] was so fun for so many of our residents, and the acts really rocked the house,” said Charla Reed, Executive Director of the Jessamine County Tourism Commission.

Among the bands that performed were Commonwealth Band, Encore, Moron Brothers, Five Below, and Jessamine County Schools Showcase. “It was important to the City Commission to bring residents and visitors alike to the downtown area,” said Raven Trainor, Assistant City Clerk. “This is just one stepping stone in the path we are taking to bring life, fun, and people back to downtown Nicholasville.”

Residents and live music enthusiasts can expect the Summer Concert Series to return in spring 2024 at Performance Park. For updates on upcoming performances, visit www.visitjessamine.com.
