Lexington, KY - Justina Boggs, 32, has been arrested after posing as a property rental company representative and defrauding individuals, according to Lexington Police. The arrest comes after reports were made to the Financial Crimes Unit in January 2024.

Detectives received multiple reports of an individual posing online as a property rental company representative, collecting deposits from unsuspecting victims, and then disappearing without a trace. The investigation led the detectives to identify the suspect as Justina Boggs. A warrant for Theft by Deception over $1,000 was issued, and Boggs was named the Bluegrass Crime Stoppers Most Wanted Person of the Week on January 25, 2024.

On February 10, 2024, officers responded to a domestic disorder call in the 2000 block of Coburn Drive, where they encountered Boggs. Taking advantage of the situation, the officers made the arrest on the outstanding warrant. Additionally, Boggs was charged with disorderly conduct. Furthermore, the Financial Crimes detectives have charged her with Theft by Deception ranging from $500 to $1,000.

The investigation into the property rental fraud is still ongoing, and Lexington Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They can contact the Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600. In a joint effort, Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Jessamine, Scott, and Woodford Counties, along with their respective municipal governments, are collaborating on combating fraud and other criminal activities. This arrest serves as a reminder to the public to be vigilant when dealing with online transactions and to verify the legitimacy of rental companies before making any payments.

As the investigation progresses, it is expected that more information will be released.
