Lexington, KY - Mayor Linda Gorton and members of the 250 Lex Commission revealed the official logo that will be used to promote the city's 250th anniversary celebration in 2025. The logo, created by Savannah Guthrie, a local graphic designer, was selected from 22 creative submissions.

"2025 is going to be a big year for our city," Mayor Gorton said. "This logo encompasses the significance of our 250th anniversary, while highlighting our vibrant arts community."

The Mayor's 250 Lex Commission, established in September 2023, is tasked with planning a year-long series of events to honor the cultural and historic importance of Lexington. As one of their first steps, the commission organized a logo design contest to help promote and celebrate the anniversary.

Guthrie's winning design stood out for its colorful and celebratory nature, as well as its flexibility. "I wanted to create a simple, bright, celebratory theme that encompasses all the aspects of Lexington," Guthrie explained. "This city has so much to offer, from its historical events to its equine imagery, rolling hill landscapes, city life, and cultural significance."

The selected logo will be featured in all marketing materials and promotional products associated with the 2025 celebration. Kip Cornett, co-chair of the 250 Lex Commission, expressed his enthusiasm for Guthrie's work, saying, "Savannah's design will allow us to bring 250 Lex to life."

Guthrie herself expressed her honor in being part of this milestone celebration, stating, "Lexington is a really special place to me, and I'm so honored to play a part in celebrating this milestone birthday."
