Transy Athletics names Kelly Rhinelander as Eventing Manager

Transy Athletics is pleased to announce Kelly Rhinelander as the manager for Transy Eventing.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to Transylvania University as the new Eventing Team Manager. It is my goal to cultivate a positive culture for the students and contribute to the success of the team. I cannot wait to introduce the students to the thriving horse industry in Kentucky, as it is a personal passion of mine and the reason I made the move to Lexington from Boston at their age," said Kelly Rhinelander.

Rhinelander is a University of Kentucky graduate majoring in hospitality management and tourism, with a speciality in event management. Kelly was formerly the Program Coordinator at the Secretariat Center where she oversaw day-to-day operations, developed and ran their intensive internship program, and managed the animal welfare program for 300+ Thoroughbreds.

"We are very excited to have Kelly join the Transy family.  The plan of moving in a new direction will allow Kelly to expand all of the different areas for our team members. From interactions with the community, both in Lexington and on campus, to the offerings for the team as far as team experiences will be something that will be very exciting for current and prospective riders," said Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Sport Administration, Leigh Oakley.

Previously, Rhinelander was a sales coordinator for Airdrie Stud Inc. handling monthly and daily coordination of world-class Thoroughbred sales. She was able to adapt this position during 2020 to video campaign sales through directing, filming, and editing 115+ individual yearling sales.

Her experiences with Central Kentucky Riding for Hope and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Foundation National Championship gave her opportunities to organize a silent auction for the Night of the Star's Gala, coordinate the Paul Frazier Memorial Horse Show, and work with show sponsors, promotion, and marketing. She has also been published in Practical Horseman Magazine.

"We are delighted to welcome Kelly as our new eventing manager and look forward to seeing our team competing in the spring," said Vice President of Athletics, Dr. Holly Sheilley.
