Senior Maddie Kellione named WBCA First-Team All-American

In just three years of play, senior Maddie Kellione has accomplished many milestones. She has been part of a HCAC Regular Season and HCAC Tournament Championship each year she's been at Transy. She was named All-HCAC First-Team each of the three years. She also received HCAC Female Athlete of the Year for 2022. All-Region third team honors were received her first year of play, followed by back-to-back years of All-Region First-Team last year and this year. At the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, Kellione earned WBCA All-American Honorable Mention.

Academically, she's earned Tom Bohlsen All-HCAC Academic Honors. She has also been named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and carries a 3.95 GPA as a senior physics major with minors in math, biology, and computer science with plans to attend graduate school to study medical physics.

In this season, Maddie has also reached the 1,000 points milestone through the Pioneers' successful season, earning HCAC honors again, including HCAC Co-Player of the Year. Now, as the Pioneers enter the Final Four this weekend, senior Maddie Kellione has been named a WBCA First-Team All-American, the first in program history and the first in Transy basketball history.

"I am ecstatic for Maddie but also for each of her teammates. Someone doesn't become All-American without having those around them that continue to push them to excel each and every day. This is an exciting day for Transy and our athletic program," said Vice President of Athletics Dr. Holly Sheilley.
