Transylvania names interim vice president for finance and administration

Thomas Stuckey, a longtime educator with experience in financial oversight and university management, has been named as interim vice president for finance and administration at Transylvania University.

“I am pleased to announce that Dr. Thomas Stuckey will be joining us in August as our interim vice president for finance and administration. Tom brings with him a range of superb and applicable experiences, including serving as Goshen College’s interim vice president of finance, both as the president and, prior to that, vice president for finance and business services at  Northwest State Community College in Ohio, and as CEO and general manager of Archbold Equipment Company,” President Brien Lewis said.

Stuckey recently completed a 10-month assignment as the interim vice president at his alma mater, Goshen College in Indiana. He was selected for the interim position at Transy through The Registry, and will continue in the position until the university can complete a comprehensive search.

Stuckey earned his Ph.D. in college administration and his master’s in education from Bowling Green State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Goshen and completed 28 graduate hours in accounting, management and counseling from the University of Iowa. He has taught undergraduate and graduate finance and accounting courses at Goshen College, Indiana Wesleyan, Defiance College and Bluffton University.

Within his community, Stuckey has served as a president and board member of the Millcreek-West Unity School Board and as a member of the Area 7 Ohio Workforce Committee. He is currently the chair of the stewardship ministry team for Zion Mennonite Church in Archbold, Ohio.
